Cludge or Cludgie
Scots - a toilet, usually separate from the bathroom and either on the landing of a tenement shared by three or four families or in the 'back green' shared by the whole building. A dark, dank, dangerous place where there is little light, pungent smells and rats galore. If you take a newspaper you would be wiping with it, not reading it. Similar to the toilet featured in the film 'Trainspotting' but not quite as high class.
