If “black box” flight recorders on airplanes are truly indestructible, why don’t they just make the whole plane out of that stuff?

it is because the black box is not indestructible, it is good at surviving things, such as fires, collisions, but it is also heavy, and even if a plane was made of such thing and flew, it would still kill lots of people just from inertia, or the shockwave of a explosion, and black boxes would most likely be good at surviving things because of the casing around the black box, think a metal cube, it won't survive a nuke alone, but it will if you put said metal cube in a bunker first, but this metal cube has sensors, so it knows what is happening, said bunker for a plane would look like a geometric shape, ( better a flying triangle than a cube, with a tic-tac looking interior of the flying Dorito )
